Research and improvement of CI / ALG learning
One of my long-term goals is improving online input learning within my capacity.
Online input learning is a new-born approach and is not well researched. There are so many questions I'd love to find answers to. For example, how many hours one REALLY needs to reach fluency in Russian? How does Russian input learning depend on one's native language and other languages one knows? What is better: SRS or "Natural SRS"? When is it better to start outputting? Is studying grammar useful, neutral or harmful and to which extend? When is it better to start reading? I have more...
There are no long term researches of CI/ALG learning.
The only way I see to answer those questions is collecting individual case studies from long term input learners and surveys from users of the CR platform and constantly refining the method according to that data. It can take years, I know. I'm in!🤩
Who can participate?
Everyone who
1) is learning (or is just about to learn) Russian with Natural Approach.
Which includes any CI-based methods such as ALG, Refold, MvJ or your own mix.
The main idea is that you intend to follow the principles:
- emphasis on getting mass comprehensible input
- no (or minimal) conscious grammar studying
- no (or minimal) translations
- no drilling.
2) is tracking hours if input
3) is serious about achieving fluency.
How to participate?
